Today I replaced both of my headlight bulbs as one of the low beams had burned out.

The bulbs that were in the truck are sylvania brand and have printed on the side "Sep 26 92".

Is that the manufacturing date of the bulbs?

My truck was made in November 1992. Could these have been the original bulbs?

Is is possible for bulbs to last for 23 years?

 

I guess anything is possible. Might check Sylvania ' s Web site for some info on manufacture date. Hell, they might want 6 of on their next commercial. Lol

Could also be that someone had a replacement bulbs laying around and used it 5 years later. I've got a bulb in my glove box from 3 years ago.
