Oops..I did it again 1989 F150
Opps.... I did it again. Seems I have a weakness for Old Ford trucks on Online government auctions.
This one is from the City of Owatonna. A 1989 F150 4wd and it has my beloved 300 strait 6 in it. Only has 100,000 miles on it.
In other words a beater truck par excellence.
Now I have tell My wife what I did...D'oh...
Had to give a little more than i wanted. But 4wd's do that around here. $1135.00 But it has the two things I was after 4wd and a low mile 300.

That's a good price for a good running 4wd truck regardless of the body and interior.

yea thats what I was thinking too. The last one I got was a 94 F250 2wd with the 300 and 108,000 and a working 1000 pound Tommy lift. I got that one for $750.
I have that one purring like a kitten.
It got up to a $1000 and I was going to let it go. But actually how often do you get a chance at a low mile 4wd??
Here is Tommy doing some work yesterday. Yea I love me some old Fords. The red one is my 95 F250 power Stroke with 130,000 miles on it. If your going to love old Fords love more than one.

I made the run to Owatonna to pick up my 1989 F150.
Here she is on the trailer ready to come home. After close inspection once home. ( Auction vehicles are like a box of chocolates. You never know what your gona get. So you bid accordingly)
I am very pleasantly surprised. As expected there is some body work that needs to be done. Floor board replacement and a door ect.
But I also found that the city of Owatanna maintains their vehicles very well.
I have detailed maintenance records dating all the way back to 1989.
Everything that I could have expected to need replacement has already been done recently.
Oil change, Water pump, new radiator and connecting front clip parts, Ignition module, cap/rotor, wires and plugs, Brakes, exhaust, Suspension hangers, Shocks, and ect.

She drives and runs fantastic. I need to do nothing mechanically.
Thumbs up!!

I went and looked at that cab today. ITS GOT A FLOOR!!!
This should be loads of fun figuring that all out.
But $200 for the whole front clip, Guess I can take my time and figure it out.
