Do you have AC?

some times my compressor kicks in, and does exactly what you describe, but I have never checked the oil preasure when it happens.

mine does this too, and i have AC, but it is not functional. It shoots from its happy place straight to below zero when I get close to stopping.

Your oil pump is not pumping enough oil. this in turn slows your engine. sounds a put foolish i know. but my ranger did that exact thing, same as my buddys cavy and we both just changed the oil pumps and it never did it again. also see about changing your oil and flushing the system.

My shop teacher swares by a way that he has always done it but i have yet to try it myself. he swares if you take a T-spoon or so of K1 and down the same hatch u add ur oil, put it in. with your old oil still in the truck. Fire it up, let the truck run for 10-15min and then drain your oil. you might even have to drop ur oil pan and take out the gunk that will have been dropt right into the pan. he swares it works and its the best way to flush the oil system. also keep in mind that just because its brandy new doesnt mean it will last you forever. 1k down the road or 100K down the road soon or later that part is gona fail. so you might be looking at a faulty pump.
Let me know either way! I'm interested to see how this turns out.
