Default odometer trouble

Well I replaced my ring and pinion gears 4.88's and now the odometer don't work, anybody got any ideas on the problem? I'm not sure but there's a smaller gear with little teeth behind the ring gear, and I took it off on accident.. Could I have possibly put it on backwards?

If I'm not wrong that's your speed sensor it might be bad or put in backwards. I'd take pics of it and post them it might help determine the problem.

Is the speed sensor the small flat gear about a 1/4 in wide behind the ring gear? & it has a lot of small teeth?

I'm pretty shure check this site out and see if one matches the gear in question http://www.transmissioncenter.org/Fo...eter_Gears.htm
