I have a 1994 f-150 with a 5.0L.It used to get 15.2 miles per gallon. I swapped to a single flowmaster with dual inlet and dual outlet. It has true dual exhaust with only a single muffler. My buddy at the muffler shop said he has had great results on the 97 up f-150s picking up fuel mileage with this combo so I decided to try it.My mileage now after the swap is 17.6 and I have more noticeable torque. The guy at the muffler shop said the 97 ups will pick up between two to three miles per gallon. The muffler alone is not cheap though. It will cost around $150.00.It was well worth the investment.I am getting ready to swap a D.S.S. bullet 306 C.I.D. with GT40 heads and an Edelbrock intake(EFI truck) with a set of Flowtech headers.I think this combo will yeild even better fuel economy because it will not have to work as hard.I will keep you posted.
