For future reference, the government mandated On-Board Diagnostics 2 (OBD2) on all vehicles in 1996. Vehicles that are manufactured on the half year of 1995 are considered a 1996 year model. Ex. 06/95 "manufacturer date, not to be confused with model year" displayed on the door jamb (or the location of the VIN sticker) is a 1996.
In other words, all vehicles < 1996 are OBD1 or OBD1.5. Very few model year 1995 vehicles have a OBD2 diagnostic connector but still retain OBD1 connectors for emission purposes.
