Default No Dash Lights

Just bought my 91 F150 with the 302. When I turned on the headlights for the first time......no dash lights. When I turned on the dome light......dash lights work! What the hell???? I took out the dome and cargo bulbs and am using the dash lights that way. Kind of inconvienient though. I would assume that it's in the light switch itself, but I hate assuming. Any help on this would be great. Thanks for reading!

Sounds like the switch to me. Mine is acting up too, when I go to turn on the cargo and dome light, the dome won't come on and the cargo does

Are you sure it wasn't turned all the way to the left, which would completely
dim down the dash lights.

I'm pretty sure in order to turn the dome light on your turning the dash lights all the way bright before it clicks on the dome.

Right. That's why I said what I did. I wanted to be sure they weren't turned all
the way down and wouldn't be seen during the day if the lights weren't turned
on.

I understand, but he's turning the dome light on and only then do the dash lights come on...so he's got them to the point of being the brightest that they can be just prior to clicking the dome light on and yet no dash lights until the dome light comes on.

Just checked mine...all the way left is at the brightest position for the dash (just before clicking the dome light on), not the dimmest. Turning the **** all the way right dims the dash lights down all the way.
