no acceleration on anything......
Hello i new here im 15 and (i buy and fix everything for this truck) i have a 1997 ford f150 4.6L v8 every time i start the thing it shakes when starting it.Also when i feel in a tight situation that i need to press the pedal to the metal it just shakes (with no power what so ever) and i hear a pop from the exhaust. Another thing is that there is a lot of unplugged cables like if they have to be plugged on the engine (thank you for reading). By the way it has new spark plugs, gas filter, air filter, cleaned out the IAC system and the whole air and intake system!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont understand what you're saying here. There are a lot of unplug harnesses from the engine? They should probably be plugged in. A lot of sensors and computers control how the truck runs. What are the wires for? Also, when you say you cleaned the entire air intake system, can did you also clean the maf, and if so with what? Did you accidentally touch the little wires on it that stick into your intake when assembled?

In the engine bay you will find some harness branches that are for options which your truck prolly doesnt have. What is important is that you check all of your sensor locations to make sure that every place you have a sensor, the harness is plugged into it.
Your sluggish response is probably due to faulty sensors...your truck is old and cleaning electrical components doesnt always make them better. Try replacing the MAF
