New Steering Box!!
Ok everyone, I am going to be installing a new steering box in the upcoming weekend... Manual says to use Type "F" transmission fluid.. so thats what i will use unless anyone has a better suggestion. Anyway, how would you go about completely flushing out the power steering system in this? Its a 1994 F150 XLT, 4x4, 302, manual.
Using two people, disconnect return line to pump, cap off nipple on pump to keep full of fluid, with the help of an assistant, crank starter and let the pump flush out the old oil. Do not let the engine start or let the pump run dry.
It's a Canadian thing eh!

That or turkey baster method. With engine running, suck out old fluid with a turkey baster and pour same amount in. Crank wheel back and forth and repeat until fluid is the right color. Purges out allot of the old stuff. Also Dex/Merc III works well, just type F works better with heat. But if your not overworking your steering components alot it should be fine.
