Then that means you aren't getting power from somewhere. I would look at the fuses under the dash and under the hood.

I would still check for power from those wires, check to see if you have a constant 12v power from the yellow wire and red wire with the key on.

I did that earlier and the red plug was around 12 volts, the yellow one however did not have the 12 volts at the plug (it did at the point where the harness connected to the stereo harness) also that was before I plugged the illumination wire that I keep bringing into this, however I did not check the voltage after I hooked in the illumination wire.

That yellow wire should have 12V all the time when grounded. If it comes out of the factory harness but not out of the adapter harness then most likely you have a problem there in the wiring.

That crossed my mind as well, can you put logic in this though?
The yellow to the plug did not put the power, that makes you think that the problem is the radio harness wire/plug, but since the other wire also runs through that same wire and plug and it works. That made me think the problem was somewhere else.

Not sure,, but something makes me wanna say the brown wire on the Ford harness is the illumination wire. Most illumination circuits are brown I think.

I have an aftermarket wiring harness to plug in the factory plugs. the problem is, the radio wont work with just the ignition power wire, the battery memory power wire and the ground, which it is supposed to.

I think the problem is at the connection at the memory wire. If you get 12v at the factory harness but not on the after market wire its connected to then it narrows it down to only 1 spot it could be.

Actually it was the 20 amp fuse in posistion 1 under the hood. I still dont understand why it worked with the other wire plugged in and I plan on researching it more but now it is working the way it is supposed to. Thank you Sylver91, You have been a great help!
