Default new to the forum

hey everyone i am new and i already have a question. i got a 89 with a 351 and a bolt for the thermostat( dont mind the spelling) broke off. i am wondering if i use heat if i will damage the aluminum lower intake on the truck. if so do you guys have any suggestions.

Drill and tap. Do not use heat on the engine. It will cause more problems than it will help. Welcome to the board.

not yet i was think that was going to be my next route to take. i have been soaking it in break away since last night. i put a pair of vice grips on it this afternoon to see if it has freeed up any little bit and nothing.

If there is enough sticking out try to use a little pipe wrench if space allows, i like to use PB Blaster it has been the best preforming penetrating lubricant i have encountered. If you use easy outs be sure to use a good set of easy outs, if they are cheap you could end up breaking the easy out off in the hole and then you will really have a good time drilling it out.
