Sounds like a good deal to me, but please don't take to much consideration in my opinion, the reason it sounds good is because most crate engines I've seen are around 3-4 grand. But I do have a question, why are you getting a brand new engine? Call up your local junk or scrap yard, get an engine with 50k on it for $500.

I just looked on Autozone at a '92 302(forget the exact year of your truck) anyways they have two options, one at $1900 + $285 core charge and the other is $1399 + $285 core charge. I'm sure there are some re-man places that are just as good as new or sometimes better for a lot less.

Well the reason i want a new one is because then i know how well the engine is taken care of. And also the thought of having a NEW engine is cool and i can run the fluids i want to like synthetics and not have to worry about leaking, ill now i have a reliable spanking new engine

I would check out companies that specialize in crate motors. For the same price as ford you may get one with a little more hp then stock
