the engine is most efficient at torque peak... so you want to be a little under that for best mileage...

sometimes you can add gear and get better mileage... like going from a 2.76 to a 3.23 or a 3.55 would net better mileage as you arent lugging the engine at low rpms... but a more efficient engine would do better with the numerically lower gear if it were a torque monster...

I recorded 0 to 60 in mine it wasn't really full throttle off the line but I got 13 seconds. 1990 302 with AOD and 3.55's. I bet I could get about ten or so if I torqued it up a little and manually shifted out of 1st

I guess I'm glad to have my 351. Sounds to be considerably faster.

I just put down as much throttle as I can without spinning tires. Around 15 I can put it to the floor.
