negative cable
I have an 89 f150xlt lariat 5.0 2wd auto w/ac
I need a negative battery cable. The Standard part number is A38-4CLT. The cable will not work, or at least I cant seem to make it work. Cable goes from negative post to frame it attaches with a crimped lug on cable attaches via bolt. Then the cable goes on to starter. The A38-4CLT is to short and the ground to frame will not line up. Need help does anyone know of a part number for the proper cable?

It would be a LOT easier to help you with pics of the parts and the truck, and the parts IN the truck (even if they don't fit).

Do you have the battery installed facing the right way? Do you have the right battery? Do you have the original cable? What exactly was wrong with it? Even if the battery terminal is ruined, the cable doesn't have to be replaced - it's better & easier (as you're learning) to just repair the original part instead of changing it.
