I have a 91 Ford F-150 5.0L V8 2wd drive. I replace the solenoid and starter. My truck turned over for about a week then stopped. I tried to replace the ground wire/ cable from the battery as it seemed well worn. I was having trouble disconnecting it from the chassis. Does anyone have any video or pictures to aid myself on this. I can see much where the cable is ending up on the chassis.
I just changed my negative cable yesterday and I had no issues reaching any of the bolts. I have the 4.9 and I used a long extension to get to the ground bolt on the frame and crawled under the truck and used a short socket to get the negative off the starter. If you have a V8 then I cannot provide any recommendations as I do not not know that set up. Rockauto had the exact cable I needed and its a SMP (very reputable). https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...14583&jsn=1440
hi I just got a 95 model with the 4.9 and the negative cable is hanging on by an THread. I tried to trace where it went and it looks like it goes straight down along the harness and to a stud below the starter. I didn’t see anywhere else it bolted to and the replacement cable picture
shows 2 rings for grounding studs , any ideas?
That is the correct negative cable for the 95 4.9. I bought the same one and have had no issues. The cable should mount to the frame rail/crossmember area on the passenger side. See picture with finger pointing to attachment point. Mounting point for negative battery cable

I see exactly what you’re talking about now! I just didn’t have enough light to see where it was bolted in when I was laying under my truck. Doesn’t look too bad at all
