Exclamation Needs to be louder

Alright guys, so heres the thing. I just took my truck in today to the local shop to see what they could do to make it sound more how I want it to. Little did I know that I already had a magnaflow muffler from the previous owner on it.. It still sounds pretty stock though, they said the best thing they could do is take off my catalytic converter and weld a Y pipe on it with new stubs for my o2 censors.. What will this do to my horse power and gas mileage? And no, there are no emmisions where I live either.

Should have little effect on power. Just be a little louder and a lot more polution. Try removing the tail pipe, switching to 3" tube and a 4-5" tip. No turn out. Choose a muffler to suit your taste. The turns kill decibles more than anything. The tip acts as a megaphone. All that is bolt on. If you still dont like it you can still cut the cats.

Just take the muffler off completely and run straight pipes. I'm in VA so I have to have the cat but other than that its a straight pipe bent down before the rear Axel and I've had so many people complement, and complain... lol

Lol. People will do what they want in the end. I just want them to try to get the best of both worlds. I think you can have performance, sound and style as well as efficiency. We've spent too many years believing information that was true in the early 70's.

and with some people you tell them they should do it one way (usually the right way) and they are so pig headed and stubborn they do it the complete opposite just because you didnt tell them to do it that way
