Is the vehicle speed sensor in the rear end of a 1993 f150 supposed to be 5v or 12v? I was thinking in my knowledge of working on vehicles most sensors are 5v reference. But I've had two sources that I trust one being the legitimate ford diagnostics and another being a reputable shop tell me it's supposed to be 12v. I'm getting 4.9x V. To the speed sensor on the rear end. But according to the wiring diagrams that I have it's supposed to be 12v out of the instrument cluster to the the sensor. But yet, I have .5v at the cluster end and 4.9x at the sensor end? I'm so damn frustrated with this truck I'm ready to burn it and not look back.

olay so now that I've takem a breather I realized that I was looking at the wiring diagram in the wrong way. It's saying that the wire next to the one I'm trying to diagnose is supposed to be 12v. With that being said that leaves me with an issue still. Wires 523 and 519, both run from the instrument cluster to the speed sensor. I have 4.9v on one wire at the speed sensor but no volts on either wire at the cluster. So what's going on here? Is this a short? If not where is this (well round up cause I'm tired of typing out 4.9) 5 volts coming from? I would say I'm looking at the correct wires, connector for the PSOM. All the wire colors match. Guess I'll hit it tomorrow.
