Default Need some electrical help

Hi folks,
I have a little bit of an off beat question for you. I am building a truck for a customer. He requested a Ford 300 engine. So I found a badly rotted good running 94 F150. I intend to use the entire wiring harness and the instument cluster. My question is this; Is it possible to use a speedo generator from a earlier truck (ie, 1990) to run the speedo. I ask this because I need an alternate way to run speedo since we are not using the Ford rear end.
Just for reference we are putting all this in a 1947 IH KB5. This is not the first one of these trucks we built. This is my 3rd he has 4 in the fleet already. But all have different drivetrains. You can see pics of the first truck at my customers website. www.biggreentruckpizza.com
Thanks in advance for the help. I'll post some pics of the engine and trans feeling at home in thier new chassis.

Can't help you on your electrical question, but great job on the earlier trucks! I've been to a couple of events this guy worked, and the truck goes over really well. Did you outsource the work behind the cab or was that yours too?

Thanks,
On the first truck we stretched the frame did all truck mechanicals mounted all equipment and built the roof structure. Ed from Colorite did the cab and sheetmetal restoration. Electrician and plumber did thier part. Then the wood was done by someone else. The first truck is all IH driveline.
