Default Need help with head installation

Chilton manual says to use water resistant sealant on head bolts 1 and 6 on the right side. Can someone clarify this for me please. Does this mean the first and sixth bolt on the drivers side of head?

When I did heads on my 302 all the lower head bolts go into the water jacket and require sealant. I opted to use sealant on all the head bolts so I would get uniform torque. Not sure if that's correct procedure but it's held up fine the last few years.
