Default Need help

I have a 4.9l 300 i6 efi, I've had it for maybe 3 years, my stepdad originally bought it for my mom but gave it to me before my 15th birthday and had hoped to get it running. It ran a few times hesitantly at first but no longer runs at the moment. Here's the most recent problem, old starter solenoid broke, replaced it and tried turning the engine over and there was loud hard clunking so I replaced the starter which was pretty worn anyways and now all I get is a click when I try to turn the engine over. I haven't gotten a chance to check the starter yet to see if it works or not but I need help.

If you are just getting a click, it's probably the starter relay on the firewall next to the battery. Try jumping the two studs with a screwdriver and see if the starter turns then. If it does, replace the relay. You might want to check all your connections also. That could cause the same problem to the relay if the connections suck.
