Need a code explained please
I Seafoamed the truck a couple of days ago, but my miss is still there. Had to make a 20 mile run in it today and threw the reader on it when I got back. Getting a KOEO code of 212, loss of ignition diagnostic monitor signal/ SPOUT circuit grounded. Can't find anything using search or in my useless Haynes manual, so need an explanation of the problem and a fix if possible. Also getting a 656, converter clutch control continuous slip error. this could explain some of the shuddering I was attributing to the engine miss. It does better with the OD disengauged, but still runs like crap
Been trying to get it running right for a month and am about at my wits end and ready to take it to the dealer along with a jar of Vaseline!

I found these on some other sites:
"Buy a digital multimeter & test the SPOUT circuit from the TFI to the EEC to see if it's actually shorted to ground, to power, or open. If resistance is high, try unplugging & reinstalling the SPOUT connector a few times to break up any corrosion & make a clean connection."
"I had a 212 when my pickup coil was going out in my distributor."
Sorry I can't be more help, I don't really know what those codes mean.
If taking the O/D off helps then the 656 could relate to transmission problems.
Someone else here should be able to offer you better suggestions.
Good luck.
