Pulled my front tank, pulled the fuel pump, float gone, none to be found today, took a couple of minutes but I came with a solution, I have a bunch of Holley carbs laying around, shook them until I found a brass float, took float out, cut bracket off float, soldered float to sender arm, fit perfect, works great.

Aren't you supposed to braze that together. The solder will break down and leave sediments and crap in your fuel. Im not sure if it's true for gasoline but I don't see why it would be different.

No, solder will hold up, I am pretty sure I used silver solder from Radio Shack anyway, besides it is submerged in gas in the carb. If it would have a disintigrating effect in especially a carb than a gas tank, then solder wouldnt be used.
