Default My first F150 build

This is about my first build of my 87 f150. I'm 18 and done all the work my self, and would like to know what everyone thinks. It is a work in progress, I will be painting in the summer. It is a 1987 F150 302 auto 2wd. It's a fairly common truck but the sorry behind it made me want to fix it. My great grand pa bought it new in 87. He passed it down to my papaw and then to me. It's never been outside my family. And that's why I wanted to fix it. I've been working with my father on cars since I was 12 years old so I know a little but I learned so much doing this that I feel confident working on cars now. It has been the hardest thing to do but the most rewarding. Some of the things I hae done is I fixed cab corners and some rust over rear fenders and I fixed numerous dents and I put a roll pan bumper and new seat upostry and a complete stereo system; subs, head unit, and door speakers. And I have the body perfect. And I put 92-96 mirrors on it: Straight as a arrow. It is primer black right now but in the summer when it warms up it will be 2tone; red on the bottom up to the body line and black on top. It will be a sport truck look. Thanks for looking at this! Btw I did actually do all the work on this truck. My dad did tell me things but I did all the work. It makes me proud to say I built it. Thanks!

Truck looks like it is coming along nicely.
It is great to see other people my age working on their trucks. Do you plan to do any suspension mods or have you not thought that far?

I plan to do a 4/6-7 drop and notch the frame with a 4 link. But that will come in the summer

Nice to see you doing your own build. Did you use a sand form bag to bend the metal for the patches or just bend it a little at a time?

I just cut the metal close as I could and used my hands and a rubber hammer and just bent it close as I could and then welded it.

Even though I am not much of a lowered guy that should be cool especially if you do the 4 link really good. I am a huge fan of 4 link suspensions.
