I think it will always scare me a bit if I cough up 7 or 8 C-notes and don't have an actual countertop to pound on if it didn't function properly. I guess I could pound on the phone but it's not the same. By the way, my Petronix HV60k coil dumped on the way home. I put my stock coil (I thought stock coils were about 20k?) back on to get home, and it started & ran pretty well. It suprised me because as I mentioned before, stock gap for an 87' 302 is .044. I'm running sidegapped mororcrafts at .056 @ 16BTDC. I kept waiting for the spark kernels to extinguish and start missing but it didn't happen. But it did sound different. Kind of tinny. Think I could stretch the gap a little more when I put the new 60k replacement coil in?

like I said...a wider gap = a hotter spark but more app to miss...I'd settle for .050 and call it a day...
