Default Master Cylinder plug

96 f150 4.9 4X4 5spd man

just purchased the truck a couple weeks ago and noticed the plug is off and taped up that is suppose to plug in at the front of the brake fluid reservior.

The guy I bought it from put one of those electric brake hook ups on the truck recently to pull a small bass boat.

anyone know why he would have unplugged that ? the electrical tape wrapped around it looks to be fairly new.

It was probably throwing a brake warning light due to the senser indicating low brake fluid level the E brake controler should have no effect on it. probably a bad senser if the fluid is full

Thanks Bubba

I just ran the vin through the Ford recall check link at Ford.com and found the truck has an outstanding recall notice for the speed control system and that this has something to do with the brake fluid and cruise control ? Could catch fire ?

I will call the dealership and have them fix it.
