Default manual lever position sensor

i want to check the alignment of my manual lever position sensor. the book calls for a special tool or equivalent. what would be equivalent, or do i need to invest in the tool and where would i buy it.

I've just gone thru this. Rather than buy the special tool (your local Advance might have it - you know the dealership can get it for you), go over to www.fullsizebroncos.com.

They have a sticky on the E4OD transmission. One of the links down near the bottom of the page shows an MPLS and how you can adjust it without the special tool.
