MAF Sensor or PCM?
Hey everyone,
My truck here recently has a huge problem staying alive at idle and while at maybe quarter throttle. When on the highway it also reacts the same way. Loses power than regains it. After putting a new MAF sensor, EGR valve, inlet tube, Throttle position sensor, DPFE sensor, EGR solenoid, Idle Air control valve and Fuel pressure regulator it still reacted the same. All vacuum hoses are good and no leaks. Reservoir holds good vacuum...
In short, today i just figured out where the general problem is but can't be exactly sure just yet. With the engine running i disconnected the MAF sensor. The engine subsequently kept a good idle ( although a little rough) without stalling or any bogging. I then (with the MAF sensor still disconnected) took it for a short drive around the block and the engine reacted the same.Still semi-good performance (without MAF sensor connected).
Now here is the question,
The MAF sensor i have currently is a new remanufactured one. I scarcely doubt it is faulty. Could the problem be that my computer is not functioning properly. Maybe my MAF connecter is bad? O2 sensor sending bad info to MAF maybe? Maybe i need to reset the PCM. How would i do this?
P.S. I am going to take off the cold air intake and put everything back to stock specs to see if it still gives me a problem. I never had a problem with the MAF sensor with the cold air intake (installed now for almost 8 months) before, so i don't know if that is the problem. At least i know where the general problem is
Any suggestions??
Thanks
