more or less it just lets our engine adapt better to changes in air flow. with our stock MAP set up, any major increase in air flow will make our trucks run lean. that means if you put a big intake on a MAP truck, you're not going to be getting the benefits like you would on a MAF set up. our computers cant handle the change in air flow.

it will also allow any engine upgrades to be more noticable, like a higher flowing intake set up and things of this nature.

some people say better MPG just because it makes the engine more efficient, but i dont know how accurate that is as i havent done the conversion yet.

there some threads on here already about the benefits that go into more detail about the swap, but i'm really looking forward to it. its going to be stage 2 of my build

I don't think that PCM will work with the Auto trans in the F150's... Thats always been the problem, any of the mustang Mass air conversions over the years would work but they wouldn't properly control the E4OD in the F150's.

I posted a link to a maf conversion kit not too long ago. price was under 800 IIRC.
If you were going to spend a thousand you'd be way better off going with the SDS stand alone computer setup. They even have a tranny controller for a lil more. With that kinda control at your hands you'd never need maf.

My thoughts on the MAF vs MAP is that if you want the computer to deal with your upgraded motor then MAF is the way to go. If you want to control how your computer controls your motor then MAP is what all stand alone computers are.

I was thinking that it would work with the AOD trans though?
