Default Loud clicking while accelerating

There's a loud *** clicking noise that only occurs when the clutch isn't engaged and I'm accelerating.... So it only clicks when the drive shaft and rear end are stressed and I'm thinking it's the rear U-bolts and bearing bc there is a little play where there shouldn't be... Any other ideas it may be or has anyone else seen this? I'm replacing the u bolts and bearings tomorrow, thanks guys

Before guessing or doing unnecessary work, pinpoint it with a mechanic's stethoscope while the rear axle is on jack stands, and the fronts are chocked. If you don't have one, 3' of garden hose works almost as well.

I'd guess you're hearing an exhaust leak. IME, U-joints squeak - not click. Also, they shed a fine red rust powder around their seals when they're going out, so it's visible before any disassembly.
