That's what we are trying to explain if you would like to listen. This will not tighten your steering. It only makes it harder to turn the wheel of center. Any loosened will still exist. Sorry for offering the benefit of years of experience and thousands if dollars of education and training.

Like I said, I was thankful for the useful information. Not the unhelpful things people had to say.

Check your steering shaft for play.

Correct me if I'm wrong... But isn't steering with some play in it normal for these year trucks? Everyone I've ever known with a truck with the obs they have play in the steering too. My truck has been like that ever since my grandpa got it in the 1990s. My buddies 93 was like that and my dad's 93 is the same.

I bought a 94 f250 diesel 4x4 new and didn't have play in the steering. A good friend owns it now and it lives at my farm still because its kind of his toy and he lives in the city. It still has tight steering!
My 91 f250 4x4 gas job has NO play in the steering, but like I say, it has a new steering box and I fixed the steering shaft.

But I have had a lot of used 80-97 fseries trucks that had loose steering but can always be fixed with new parts.

theres certan tollerances to it but my truck has tight steering I can flick it with my hand and its super responsive no issues there. i just got another f150 and the wheel is very loose however thats a tottly different issue. the shaft and other compents are fine the steeringbeering is shot. easy fix.

OP it comes down to its either a tie rod pitman arm or a bushing on the front steering components. its very easy to test the front end. most shops call it shaking down the front end. just jack up the front end get a friend use a bar put it under the wheel and pull up on it to test the ball joints then get him to shake the wheel in and out from the top then side to side. if he feels something thats your issue with the sterring. i could be the steering shaft but im guesing its something out front more then an uncommon issue with the shaft.
that is my advice. id be intrested to hear back on your results after shaking the front end down. that will rule out a whole mess of problems for sure.

OK cool. But keep in kind everyone responding is generally trying to help. Some people are better at answering questions and some have more knowledge but in this post anyway no one seemed to be screwing with you.

I have it's a one piece I even drilled a hole and put a bolt trough it in two places. Still like 180 degrees of play. Meh I gave up
