Loose Dash

Default Loose Dash

I have a 92 F150 and i live down dirt roads. well i noticed that when going over bumps the dash goes up and down pretty far and seems loose. I know this happens to alot of em but was wondering if there was a quick fix, get back to me please, Thanks

I do not know if there is a quick fix, but you should be able to tighten the dash. Get yourself a Chilton's or Haynes manual and it will have information about how the dash is held to the truck and you should be able to figure out how to tighten up yours from that info.

Ford make a part to fix the broken dash mount but you will have to search for the part # . I just bent a piece of steel to fix mine. If you remove the passenger side kick panel you will probably find the lower support is broke. It is just a piece of plastic, kind of a poor design if you ask me. Anyway I just drilled some hole and bolted the piece of metal to the dash and inside part of the cab. Mine was starting to break the top of the dash from shaking.

We have some extremely poor road conditions where I live.
