Default Looking at a used 302

Hey,

My 302 is smoking pretty bad from the valve cover breather and oil filler so im thinking its time for a swap. I found this on kijiji. Just wondering what questions i should ask and what I should be looking for or looking out for.

Also what is involved in the swap. I'm guessing it's pretty straight forward considering its a direct swap, my rear main seal is leaking too so 2 birds with one stone.

Would you pull the tranny with the motor? What parts would I need, seals, gaskets? Any books you can suggest or forum posts? Do i just unhook everything and hook it back up fill it up and try to fire it up? Kinda new to this.

Over 100,000 mi, pull a couple of plugs and see what they look like, swap is direct, dont pull trans if 4x4, might be easier with a 4x2 truck, look for any leaks and fix them while engine out, wouldnt hurt to think about a new oil pump.
