Default Looking into straight axle conversion

I'm starting to look into a straight axle conversion, just wondering what I should be looking for. Will any dana 44 axle work? Finding a 79-78 f150 dana 44 axle is pretty tough. I have a lead on a dana 44 from a 76 K5 blazer, will this work?

Not really, the GM axles have the differential on the wrong side, the bolt pattern is wrong.
you can change the hubs and even swap the tubes side for side, but it gets expensive fast. I just drove by half a dozen of the front ends you need, that will probably go to the crusher
Local scrap dealer bought a whole yard full of 70s and 80s ford trucks, I never knew the guy would sell anything, then he sells everything.

I have one but I'm not sure the ratio. I'd let ya have the rear 9" with it
Its still in the 79 bronco. One wheel stud is broke on the pass. side though
