Question lift question

i have an 89 f150 and i was talkin to a buddy about lifting it and he said tha a free way to lift the back that wouldnt mess anything up was to take the shackels off and flip them pver and put the leafs under the axel and it will give it likf lift. So my question is has anyone on here ever done this and will it actually give me 4 ins of lift without messing anything up and whats a good way to lift the front the same?

If you put the leafs "under the axle", it will lower the truck, not raise it.

Hate to burst your bubble but there is no way to do a "cheap 4" lift" without buying a kit
