It depends on the name brand, price and type of suspension lift kit that is installed.

My 87 has the Rancho 4" Suspension Lift with long radius arms.

I have no tire wear other than normal with the infamous Dana 44 TTB
or as many incorrectly call it the IFS.

My front tires are straight,
not leaning as many of the cheaper suspension lifts.

The truck drives & rides as a stock suspension,
I have BFG's All-Terrian KO tires on it.

The 4" lift with Dual Front Shocks was installed in 2000
during a frame-off restoration.

Actually, I installed the Dual Steering Stabilizers two years ago,
just for looks, it really did not need them at all.

4WD TTB Twin Traction Beam
2WD IFS Independent Front Suspension.

If you click on my Garage in this forum, there are pictures.

Hope this helps!

i was looking at a 4" lift for my truck too. i was thinking rough country, but i wanted some other input. i also, wanted the dual steering stabilizer just for looks, i think it looks pretty kick a**!

i'm looking for some maxxis Bighorn tires for after i lift it

mine is a 1989 f150 XLT Lariat 4WD. i'm currently in the middle of replacing my hood and fenders. but i plan on painting it and lifting it later this year.

any other recommendations?

Make sure the suspension lift kit does not change your truck's front end TTB geometry,
if not lifted correctly, your front tires will lean out at the top or lean in at the bottom and tire wear, drive-ability and looks will be affected.

The Dual Steering Stabilizers come two different ways
1) As my 87 are installed.
2) Installed side by side.
Make sure the pair or kit you buy are for your truck and the type you want.
