Ok, it seems like alot of us have sputtering problems with these trucks. For the ones that have this issue just put what corrected your problem and lets see what all comes up. Maby this will help maby it's a dumb idea. I will keep adhearing to the advise you all give me but I wan't to see if there's a common issue somewhere.

Well don't get mad at me because this wasn't for my truck, but a lawnmower that was sputtering and quitting on me. One of the fuel lines was kinda dry rot so I replaced it and there were no more problems. So check to see your fuel lines are still good.

My truck would hesitate on acceleration. Checked plugs and one was black so i moved that injector and problem followed to that cylinder. Replace injector and wallah!!

well i cleaned my iac valve and throttle body and got some positive results. it is still showing some of the roughness, but im guessing if i replace the iac, that may clear everything up. (dont have the 80 bucks for a new one right now, but my truck is driveable again) will check my tps tomorrow and see what condition it is in. (my problems are not usually one simple fix and i want to be thorough)

Well I have an 85 and you wouldnt believe he issues Ive had with it. I wad driving along the road and as soon as I tried to go up to 80kph it just died on me. Got it running again just to have it sputter and die again as soon as I tried to get past 80 again. So far Ive replaced the ignition coil, starter solenoid, fuel pump, choke thermostat, and spark plugs. Ive tested all of the plug wires and they all carry spark. So just got it to run yesterday. (kinda) It runs really rough and when i try to push the throttle it sputters and dies. (and gives me a face full of gas to boot) When I use a screw driver and push the throttle down just a little bit while Im pushing the throttle down it revs fine. If I dont actuate that little arm it just sputters and dies. Any ideas????
