ive been thinking about this for a while, and was wondering if anyones ever tried this. i have a 2WD '92 f150 with a 351 and m50D tranny. Im in the military and if i dont get a 03-04 cobra i was thinking about dropping in a lightning supercharged 5.4L and a tremic t56 six speed. is this even possible? i like shifting my own gears, and ive seen lightnings with the tremic installed, but not sure if it would even fit in this body style. This is just an idea floating around in my head, wondered if anyones tackled a project like this and what others think about this... realisticaly this is a project thats at least few years out ($$...militarys not the best paying job out there!), but hey, i can dream cant i??

 

One guy on here took a mustang engine turboed it and dropped it in his 96ish f150. and put a mustang 5 speed in. Its possible but he had to fabricate a lot of things. It will take a lot of work and patience. He did it over like 3-5 months if i remember correctly. Anything is possible.

 

i wanna keep my engine, but i want to swap from an Auto to a manual.
i want the use off all my gears and dont want a crawler gear like most old F150's.
What transmission should i get? and how much would i have to do to get a clutch pedal and the necessary equipment installed?
