Jiggle Column Shifter for Reverse Lights?!?!

So when I'm in reverse I have to wiggle the column shifter around for my reverse lights to come on and sometimes multiple times while I'm in reverse

any clues?

Probably the neutral start switch on the side of the tranny. It's called something else, but it usually does that.
