Default jet performance?

I have a 92 f150 with a 4.9 in it and if ound a jet performance chip to work with my truck its around 250 bucks and supposedly adds 30 hp i know it prolly wont be quite that much but its gotta help. So i was wondering if jet performance is a good trusted name and not just a resistor wrapped in plastic?

I don't think any kind of chip is going to help. To my knowledge the 92 models are still map and the aren't much help when it comes much changes at all
