I got a 96' XLT with a tow/haul package which I didn't know they made but I've had mechanics look and they say it is an upgraded package. Anyways. I'm having a low pop/thud/click in the front drivers side when I apply the brakes at slow speeds and when I turn the wheel about 3/4 of the way to the lock on with a left hand rotation any ideas what it might be? Aslo there is a wobble in the tearing and in the body of the truck at about 40mph possible tire out of balance? then I have a loud thunk in the rear end when accelerating without a load or with anything over 700 lbs in the bed. Oh and my rear brake shoes glaze over no matter what ( no contaminents all knew wheel cylinders and hardware ) I also need a list of parts for a 4x convertion on a 302 engine, also would it be bad to swap the rear end from a 1ton pick-up into it? I have the 8.8 rear with a 3.55. Lookign forwards to an answer thanks.
Oh and the truck has 60K on it but used to sit a lot.
