Plain an simple, with a 96 F150, if i want to cut the CAT out, or all of it and just do straight pipes, will i have issues with the O2 sensor? seeing as i wouldnt have any CAT or Muffler.

if you have one after the cat yes i think the 96s have a down stream one so you would have problems. a 1995 and before just have one (for the most part) and its before the cat so you can just cut it off and its fine.

Isn't there some sort of adapter you can plug in to the harness where the O2 sensor goes after the cat to send the computer a signal that everything is OK? I remember seeing something like this for Mustangs I think.

But to answer your question, if there's an O2 sensor after the cat, then yes your check engine light will more than likely come on. I'd research this O2 sensor adapter.

Yeah, they're called MIL eliminators. You use them when you run an offroad x or h pipe. But I'm not sure if they make something similar for the F150s. I bought a pair with a pypes o/r x pipe but the check engine light never came on so I sent them back. Then the next day the check engline light came on :p
