Default Interior Light Not Working

So my Interior Light doesn't work, my door ajar light doesn't work and I am pretty sure I know its one of the door switches.. I had planned to replace both, but upon doing further reading its not what I thought it was....

I bought these $6.00 push pin things that sit in my door jam
http://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/...FeRxQgodzgIAhw

I am gathering now I need to go through the gem module and test the actual gizmo in the door.....

Can any one shed any light on this?

Its a REGULAR CAB, 1995 EB 2wd with 141K

Yup and the bulbs been taken out.. The door ajar light doesn't even come one, so I think a fuse or something has been pulled

What do you mean the door ajar light? So....what I'm getting so far is the dome dome light doesn't come on, but there's no bulb in it anyway... You pulled the bulb?

Get a good bulb in it, make sure the ground is clean and making a good connection. IIRC The fuse the controls the dome light also controls the radio, speedometer, speed memory, and something with the transmission (when the fuse is bad it shifts really hard), so if none of that is working then its the fuse.

Also, do you have the bed light? Outside above the rear window. That should turn on when your door is open. Turning your dimmer/headlight **** all the way up until it "clicks" also turns on the dome light

Maybe im thinking wrong.. But shouldn't there be on the dash some where an idicator that says "Door ajar"....

I can't see the light on the back of the cab... I have a giant Leer Campershell and theres no way to see it

Its good to know the fuse is there... All that stuff works

I don't think our trucks have a "door ajar" light in the dash. I have a 92. You should post a pic of your dome light. If you have the map lights (whatever they're called) do they turn on when you flip the switches?

They do.. I got fiddling with it today and discovered it was the switches as they where grounding against the body of the truck. I thought there was anohter switch attached to the inside door latch but maybe thats the newer trucks

There is a button/switch thing in each door jam, but if the dome light assembly doesn't have a good, clean, and tight ground then it won't come on.
