I think the 1992 gauges come out in pieces too like the 1990.

sorry to bring up an old thread but atleast im using search function lol. i tried putting a cluster/w tach i pulled from junkyard Bronco in my truck and my turn signals didnt work and had ABS light on. i swapped it back to old one and it all went away. i didnt think to get the year Bronco it was but im assuming its the wrong one

my question is could i remove the printed circuit board and swap it over to the new cluster or would that not work?

Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. So, assuming the gauge cluster is identical (?) and everything else worked (Tach, gauges, lights, etc.) it's probably just wired a little different so I don't see why you couldn't swap them.

the circuit boards are different here is a picture from when i swapped mine. both clusters are the same year but very different. the one on the bottom is the cluster that has a tach

your going to need a cluster that comes from from the same year as your truck. all the gauge pods interchange, which will allow you to keep your speedo with your mileage and the connectors are the same which allows you to swap clusters. but the circuit boards are whats different. your old one wont have the pathways for the tach.

The clusters do NOT have to come from the same year truck. There are certain clusters for certain year ranges. Lots of info here on the site for the swap and what years for what truck.

ya i knew someone was gonna get me on that one. from what i have gathered here the years go as
92 to 93
94 to 95 obd I
95obd II to 96obd II

earlier than that i dont know

even though there is some leeway in which years are compatible i still recommend finding a cluster of the same year. if only to save yourself some possible headaches

I have a 2006 f150 that came with no tach and I’m looking to add one, I’m curious if I could pull a cluster with a tach from another of the same year and plug it in if it’d work or not
