Initial timing distributor replacement
I forgot to check the direction the arm was facing when pulling the distributor. Saw a great video that explained you should find TDC then point the arm up to plug wire for cylinder 1.
Maybe what I think is TDC based on the harmonic balancer and timing indicator is not correct. My cylinder 1 plug wire is 12:00 in this picture. I did not take a picture of harmonic balancer at 0 degrees but here you can see the white mark at 0 and the indicator with TIME etched in metal.

Sorry for the unorganized post. My phone is have issues with combing a question and photos.
If the 0 degree mark is lined up to TIME indicator, and my distributor arm is a little to the right of the cylinder 1, am I on the right track?

I just realized that the harmonic balancer rotates twice when the piston reaches TDC twice. Either I’m off by 180 degrees or there’s something else I’m missing.
Yes there is the possibility of it being 180 out. Just make sure that the engine is at TDC on the compressions stroke, and then set the body of the distributor were the rotor is pointing at the #1 plug wire.
