I have a 95 f150 extended cab 4x4 with the 351w and I love it. I've had it for 5 years and its been a good truck even tho it has 176,XXX miles. I've done some research and I want to improve it. The only thing I hate about it is the transmission, im looking around for a donor truck. Preferably one with the zf5 but I HIGHLY doubt it. Zf5s with the small block pattern are absolute unicorns in my neck of the woods so I will prolly get one with the m5od, and have the tranny rebuilt and then just swap everything over from the donor truck. My question is, my truck has electric 4x4 which has never failed me but I'm not a fan of it. I would like to find a manual 4x4 tbox donor truck and swap it but i was planning on redoing the exhaust very soon and doing the tranny swap in about 6 months...if put long tubes will I run into clearance problems when putting the new tranny and tcase in if I go ahead and do exhaust now?

 

I can't tell you if it would get in the way of anything, but I do know that many people have to modify their headers. If I were in your situation I'd hold off on the exhaust. However, my exhaust setup is stock shorty mustang headers, a magnaflow 2 in 2 out cat, then two moroso spiral flows exiting out each side before the rear tires. I don't have any clearance issues. Yeah I plan on doing away with the cats, I already have the back one cut off, so its still legal because we just have a visual inspection where I am, no sniffers. But yeah I already planned on putting the o2 sensor in the header just where all the tubes collect, and then run true duals with hollowed out cats and then flow masters and then dump, from what I've gathered, clearing the tranny shouldn't be a problem, but tcase I wasn't completely sure on, I'll probably will just do it all at the same time just to make sure. Also it seems like everyone's come to the consensus that the hedmans are a great fit, but I seen a couple ppl say floteks fit the best??? Idk may just go with whatever's price is right

 

I got a set of hedman long tubes they fit great. Mines 4x2 though. 90 f150 302
