I ended up getting a Richporter brand Distributor that included a TFI that has a heat threshold that is about 50 degrees or so higher than stock.

well just FYI my ignition module went out on my 94 F150 4x4 5.o and would not even stsrt. i put in a auto zone replacement and the truck ran like crap missing , bucking ,stalling backfire, i took it back thought it was a bad one, same thing, replaced everything under the sun to try and fix the problem and nothing.I bought a ford motorcraft ignition module, and Problem solved. it purred like a kitten.1 month i was with out my truck and a 1000.00 later all because autozone sells ****ty parts that dont even work right..Severely oath-ed to never buy quality parts from them again

There are many examples of parts store parts causing problems as you describe. Always use Motorcraft or OEM parts when possible. Check out the date that this thread was started for some humor.
