While replacing my key switch (1992 f150 xl) I have noticed a wire with a connector that fits on the edge of the socket that the key cylinder fits into.
A couple of questions, what is it for and what retains it in place? It was just dangling when I removed the bottom cover.

 

It just clips on. It's for the chime that tells you you left your key in the ignition
