Default Ignition/Electrical problems, help!!

So I own a 1993 F-150, and everyone once in awhile I will jump in it and turn the key....but nothing will happen. The battery will turn on, fuel pump kicks on, radio turns on but the starter doesn't engage...I have no idea what the problem is. Is it a loose wire in the ignition? Or maybe a bad starter? Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot, or similar experiences and how the problem was solved would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Sounds very much like a loose connection at the starter - or somewhere else like the solenoid or ground, or a bad starter, but 9 times out of 10 it's a bad starter wire connection
