Ignition Control Module Problem 1994 F150
Well, I went ahead and replaced my ICM this weekend. Major problem though...instead of breaking my neck with hard shifts, I now break my neck when taking off from a dead stop. HAHAHA
The old ICM had been installed for 24 years. There have been major version upgrades since 1993 so the new one I put in is like a dream. I broke one screw holding the old ICM in place and new this was the first time it was replaced. I bought this truck new 16 years ago and figured it was time to clean sensors; do some electrical connections; etc. After the PSOM was rebuilt I figured I would have some leeway in doing some housekeeping on the truck. I would have changed the ICM along time ago if I had thought about it. E Z P Z..

It sounds like you are just reporting a happy ending. Just checking was your new ICM black in color as your old ICM should have been? From what I have read 1994 and newer ICMs should be black. 1993 and older ICMs should be gray.
Yeah, I checked into all of that to make sure I got the right one. In the end, my 1994 DID have the black one. I noticed the previous year 1993 had two types to deal with. So, I checked around and made sure I got the right one. One store had them listed backwards so i went to another vendor and got the right one after double triple checking to make sure I was good to go....
I have a 1994 and a black icm was in the truck they trying to sale me a 1075 gray instead of 1077 black. So i should tell them i want the black one?
