Default Identify Components for New Guy

Since everyone is so helpful on these forums and I'm finally branching out to tackle all problems myself with this truck, I was wondering if anyone could help me identify the items circled in red.

The 2nd picture is just a closeup of item #3.

Well, I'll try. Item (3) should have a rubber elbow shaped tube connecting that fitting to an opening at the bottom of the heater/air conditioner blower motor. The motor is that large semi-gloss black item that looks recently replaced to the above left in the close up picture. Looks like somebody replaced the motor and didn't reinstall the tube. Item (2) is the smog pump exhaust vent, I think that is some type of muffler. The smog pump diverts the air out through this tube when not pumping air into the exhaust system. Item (1) I am not sure, it looks to be disconnected at both ends. Also, it looks similar to the heat riser tubing for older carbureted engines, so I really don't know its use on your motor. It looks much too large, but if it was small enough, I would wonder if it connected item (3) to the heater/air conditioner blower motor.

I thought 1 was what connected to the cat. The piece on mine is only like 4-6in long and goes in that general direction.

Thanks for the responses, guys.

1 is connected to a cannister at the bottom of the first picture, even though it's not in that picture. I didn't circle what it's connected to, even though I don't know what that is either.

I just hope not having any hoses connected to 2 and 3 will cause a problem.

Item (2) is correct, that is normally vented to atmosphere, nothing missing here. Item (3) may be to provide a forced air flow to cool the blower motor. If anything, the missing hose from item (3) to the blower motor it may shorten the life of the blower motor.
